This innovative pilot project aims to support access to early childhood education and effective transition to school in Sydney’s Inner West.
It aims to support children at risk of educational disadvantage including Low Socio Economic Status (LSES), Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE), Refugee and ethnically marginalised families, and better integrate early childhood education with immunisation and disease prevention.
This is an action research project, which will be trialling the use of technology to support a virtual community of practice, to enhance connection and collaboration between a range of early childhood, health and community services.
We are commencing with a focus on the geographic area covered by the Inner West, Canada Bay, Burwood, Strathfield, and Canterbury-Bankstown local government areas.
Practitioners from early childhood services, primary schools, health and community services are encouraged to join this project.
